UX/UI study for a brazilian finances APP.
According to IBGE data, in 2019, Brazil was considered one of the most unequal countries in the world, with a Gini index of 0.54, indicating a high concentration of income.
The need for financial education within an extremely unequal country is an issue within the spheres of public opinion and becomes an essential requirement to balance the accounts of the majority of the Brazilian population who have little money and receive in a currency that is increasingly devalued.
How can we create a solution that facilitates expense management in a hassle-free, easy to understand and easily accessible way?
Objectives
General Objectives
Cohesive study to build a solution that makes it easier for users to control their finances.
Specific Objectives
Employ the Double Diamond methodology, focusing on all stages of the project construction process.
Identify opportunities that address problems that its products that are already on the market
haven't yet explored.
Create a product that is easy to navigate and with easy understanding of the tools by the user.
Methodologies
For this project, the Double Diamond approach was used, which, within agile methodologies in design thinking, allows development to take place in a flexible way and generate small deliverables that are measurable, without having to wait for the project to be ready to evaluate its efficiency. The steps that make up this method are:
For our study, we made some subdivisions within the stages:
Discover
Within this stage we need to collect as much relevant information about the problem studied. To do this, we use agile methodology exercises:
CSD Matrix
Here it was time to understand what was known about the problem: The certainties, assumptions and doubts that came to mind.

Creation of Research Script
At this point, we think about strategic questions based on the issues we raised during the CSD matrix.
Our group opted for quantitative research and few qualitative questions within the questionnaire, in order to obtain a larger sample of responses and to better understand the group of users we were dealing with.
Desk Research
Through a quick online search of sources with valid data, we were able to collect the greatest amount of information and open data on the subject:
Stakeholders Mapping
It is a tool for studying direct and indirect agents involved in the problem:

Define
At this stage, the information collected is analyzed to identify insights that will
guide the design.
Data Crossing
After collecting the data, we cross-referenced the data to find better selections to build personas that were part of majority groups within this research:
Personas
After analyzing the data collected in the research, we arrived at two personas:

Opportunities:
By defining personas, we are able to identify opportunities to innovate or
improve the experience.
Benchmarking:
An opportunity to look at existing services and see what functionalities they cover and issues present in the pain points of our personas that have not yet been addressed:
Develope
At this stage, the brainstorm served to generate as many ideas as possible from all group participants, without initial judgments. As well as sketches/wireframes of screens. Here it has already been decided that it will be a financial control app.
The entire navigation flow and screen possibilities present in the
solution are also considered:
Low Fidelity Prototyping
Low-fidelity prototyping is a simpler and more schematic prototype, but with the flow of interaction, information hierarchy and good design practices in mind.
Low Fidelity Prototype Testing and Feedback
This moment is essential to obtain a better product. To do this, we use observation of users interacting with the prototype to identify usability problems and areas for improvement.
High Fidelity Prototyping
When we get here, in addition to reevaluating and implementing improvements with the data collected in the test, we need to develop the product’s visual identity.
This is how the App arm of the company Toro Investimentos was born: Anota a Nota. An app dedicated to bringing more people to an uncomplicated way of taking care of their financial life. The main functions that differentiate the app from its competition are:
My Debts: A feature that allows users to write down their debts and obtain possible solutions to pay them off.
Investment simulator: Already present on some banking websites, but not yet brought to the reality of apps, it is a feature that helps you to have quick predictions for personal investments.
Savings Goals: In addition to being able to create savings goals for each purpose the user needs, this function allows the user to create limits on spending categories that make it easier to achieve this goal.

Next Steps
The project is still in the delivery stage. In the next table, we structure the next steps before the app is launched.
What I've learned so far…
What I enjoyed most about this Tera UX Design Bootcamp experience was understanding how each process within design thinking is essential to the success of a product. Mainly detailing the research moment, to delve into the problem we are trying to solve. A good UX Designer is first and foremost a professional and dedicated researcher. And, I am increasingly excited about my path of discovery and improvement to innovate in future major projects in the area.
